(Formerly Cutthorpe Old Hall)
City escape
About
When moving out of the Big Smoke after working in digital media for 20+ years we would never have known to pinpoint Cutthorpe on the map as the next place to live, but its close proximity to Sheffield city centre and Chesterfield town and handy two hour express trains to London has gifted us with contemporary life and all its trimmings (I.e., mains services, Hive heating, Quooker, Gigabit internet etc, door deliveries) in a Conservation Zone deep in unspoiled British countryside.
The front of the property was built at the tail end of the Renaissance period and stands tall, boasting views to die for. With ample indoor/outdoor space to relax and entertain in, there is the healthy choice of a anonymity or village life. You can enjoy farm fresh milk from the dairy 4 mins walk away, or a visit to their local creamery outlet (or straight to your door) and order restaurant deliveries, Beedelivery services, join clubs such as horse riding, football, gym membership, tennis, Pétanque, walking, running, climbing, scouts, hot pod yoga, bikers club, fencing lessons etc and stroll to the stunningly beautiful Linacre reservoirs, fields and bluebell woods nearby, there is so much to do and even room to keep chickens. Buses run to town regularly and the train station is only 10 mins away.

OLDE & NEW
No septic tank, no oil deliveries, no faff!!
The beauty of the property is that it has easy access via a short drive to all local amenities as well as to the all-essential coffee shops, cinemas, swimming pools, theatres, and everything else expected of city life, whilst being tucked away in the unique retreat of the ancient village of Cutthorpe (which is mentioned in the Parish of Brampton Wikipedia insert).

Here our daughter attended both Primary and Junior school for 3 years, which is located just 0.6 miles from the house. In fact, the Cutthrope Primary&Junior school building is visible from the property but thankfully all playground noise is inaudible! Kudos to the local school for their amazing support over the years, their increasingly progressive outlook and for getting our daughter through her exams. Another great school in the locality is St Mary's which is a Catholic high achieving school.
QUALITY & WARMTH
On the Tudor farmhouse side of the house there is a snug place in which to enjoy the open fire (or radiator) and it has space for a small gym. Off camera is a full-size running machine, a large yoga ball, yoga mats, dumbbells and barbell weights, a huge mirror to be ultra vain in, all whilst you get your body into shape. Previously the television lived here too but it was replaced by good books and our children's tech devices, making TV and its irritating adverts somewhat dead and buried, which is ironic given that we both worked in the Advertising industry before WFH and a new career in law took over.

LEAVING THE CITY
When pigs can fly! Never thought we would brave venturing out of the intensity and expense of the City to sample life elsewhere. Truth is, when the third child was on her way, it was definitely time to shift priorities and give our children and ourselves something more flexible, safer and healthier in a life choice kind of way. Marmalade-making and sour dough godessing aside, you have space to grow your own veggies whilst working full-time with the fastest broadband speed possible in the UK at one gigabit per second, you really can enjoy the perfect work/life balance if you give yourself little piggy wings. Just do it, as ChatGPT can't do it for you and you are still only 10 minutes from a Starbucks or Costa.

PLAYTIME
A newly furbished wood built playground two minutes from the house sits neatly next to the cricket pitch but far enough away to be safe! It includes a climbing frame, swings for toddlers and older children, picnic benches, zip wire and a flat basket swing and play benches and balancing ropes. Perfect for after school and a great meeting place for parents and carers. There is also a repurposed classic red telephone box (free) BOOK SWAP facility across the road from the house, which is always heaving with books and serves as a healthy distraction and resource for all ages. There is a crafts club two minutes from the house too, though I don't think it's called stitch and bitch like in Islington lol
